All applicants will complete a personal history background investigation, entry level testing, drug screen and physical examination. Certain positions will require a psychological examination and/or a polygraph.
Hours include shift work, weekends and holidays. High school graduate or equivalent is required. Multi-tasking skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others and exercise good judgment while under extreme stress in emergency situations is a must.

Deputy Cadet
For the first time ever, the Wise County Sheriff’s Office is seeking qualified non-certified candidates for the position of Deputy Cadet.
To be considered the applicant must:

Meet TCOLE requirements for peace officer licensing.(TCOLE Admin. RULE §217.1)
Successfully pass a background investigation, PT test, written test, and interview board.
Selected candidates will be required to submit to a polygraph, physical, and psychological exams.
Selected candidates will also be required to sign a 4-year contract.
Successful candidates will attend the Weatherford Law Enforcement Academy and will be offered a starting salary of $18.00 an hour. Upon successful completion of the academy, cadets will be sworn in as Wise County Deputies and given a pay increase.
