Foreclosure Notices

A Notice of Substitute Trustee Sale is what's commonly referred to as a Foreclosure Sale Notice. The sales are conducted by the trustee acting on behalf of the mortgage lender and are held the first Tuesday of every month at the door of the first floor in the southeast corner of the Wise County Courthouse located at 101 ½ North Trinity. The time(s) of the sales are indicated on each notice.

Foreclosure Postings

The County Clerk's office does not produce a list of the foreclosure postings. Notices of all properties to be sold are posted in the on the first floor of the Wise County Court House. The posting is on a clipboard located on the bulletin board of the east wall. All notices for the sales must be posted 21 days prior to the sale. Copies of individual notices may be purchased for $1 per page from the Records office located at 200 N Trinity.

The Sale

The County Clerk's personnel does not conduct the sale or have any information about the specifics of the sale. The sale is conducted by the trustees on behalf of the lenders.
